Domaine Henri Delagrange has flourished for more than six generations in Volnay, Burgundy.
In 1990, Didier Delagrange settled on the estate, working alongside his parents until 2003.
For the past few years, his eldest son Alexis has joined the family estate and works hand in hand with him.
Alexis honed his craft internationally, gaining valuable experience and opening his mind to new working methodologies.
He remains convinced that Burgundy terroirs deserve exceptional care and are truly an international wonder.
Today, the estate spans the villages of Volnay, Pommard, Aloxe-Corton, and Meursault, covering an area of around 16 hectares.
Keen to leave his own signature, Alexis stays constantly attuned to the innovative practices of the winemakers who inspire him.
Yet he never forgets that traditions matter, and that wines must faithfully express the true markers of their terroir and appellation.
He is a passionate, fascinating winemaker who loves tasting everything! We know each other intimately; we had the chance to grow up and taste (plenty of) gorgeous bottles together.
He introduced me to quite a few truly great wines.
Whenever I catch up with Alexis, it's always about generous glasses of red and a prime rib of beef!
